Meet the Staff

TANYIKA "TANN" MOORE

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR/FOUNDER

Tanyika is a playwright, producer, director, classically-trained actress, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and founder of Power and Purpose Productions Inc.

During her work as an actress and overall student of the theatre, Tanyika recognized the emotional impact and transformative power of the arts. This sparked her interest in finding ways to utilize the arts to entertain and heal. In 2007 Tanyika began this journey that is now Power and Purpose Productions Inc, but wanted additional training to better assist the community with practical ways of healing past and present emotional hurts.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) she assists clients in reaching goals and managing challenges. Individual sessions are great for helping individuals, but there are times when a more practical approach to awareness is most effective in the efforts to heal others.

Our mission at Power and Purpose Productions (PPP), is to raise mental health awareness through the dramatic and fine arts. PPP Inc. is committed to partnering with corporations, organizations, schools and other entities to educate through theatrical productions, workshops and other arts-related modalities. We will strive to introduce all audiences, including underrepresented communities, to dramatic arts. We firmly believe that artistic observation evokes possibility, power, and purpose.

Tanyika is the author of, “The Cinderella Syndrome: When the glass slipper no longer fits”, which became an instant hit and introduced the world to Hip-Help ™.  Hip-Help ™, a term coined by Tanyika, is a new approach to self-help that delivers information using urban analogies, humor and other practical approaches.  She was awarded The Reviewer’s Choice Award for Best Nonfiction/Self-Help and has conducted countless seminars regarding personal development, self-image and assertiveness.
